After Niagara Falls.....

Friday saw us packing up and leaving Niagara Falls...traveling to our friends place at Georgian Bay on Lake Huron, we left Esther at the Toronto Airport to travel back home...she has arrived safely :)
We stopped at Barrie and visited a large Costco's stor
e which is like a huge warehouse that has just about everything.  We also enjoyed lunch there too.  Traveling on and the scenery changed from city life to country life with farms dotted around the place.  Settling in we managed to get washing done and just down wind a little bit....mother was going down stairs with a huge arm load of washing and slipped on the last step (wooden floors and merino socks don't go together :) ) and ended up with a very sore tail end...but you keep going even amongst the pain.  We are thankful that it's not worse.

Yesterday we started our day with a Brunch at the Assembly our friends fellowship with...this was a nice way of meeting others in the meeting as well as seeing a slide show of our friends trip to Israel.
In the afternoon we visited a nearby town who had a Maple Syrup festival...this happens at the end of the maple syrup season...where a lot of growers try to sell their wares and others sell theirs...it was out on the street so lots of people could enjoy.
The younger two were excited about a police car again...an older son liked the cars being raffled (we said no to a raffle in case he won!!!)....

There was a man who made potato chips ... or twisted/stretched potato...while you watched.  He drilled a hole in the end of the potato then put it on a machine that cut the potato...putting the potato on a stick he pulled it before cooking it...

...and they were yummy.   We tried a number of maple syrup samples and all a bit different.  Someone explained to us that each tree is different so each syrup is going to be different.  There was a lot to see and do and we all enjoyed our experience.

Today is Sunday...in our country many will be heading back to school after the holidays...enjoy your time there...we have a busy schedule with meetings this morning and a rest this afternoon, before the gospel meeting and then a sing.  It's been amazing how GOD has opened up windows for us to get special times with each group of believers.
Whatever you are walking through today may you remember that GOD loves you and has a plan for you.  Walk with Him today

  2. Wow! It is great seeing and reading about your adventures! The police cars are very different from New Zealand. The junior room's favourite car was the red one! We think it must go really fast.
We also liked the look of those potato swirly chips...yummy! Can't wait to see Andrew and Luke back at school again and hear about more of their trip!
    From the junior room :)
