A new adventure...

Firstly...we're slowly adjusting to being home again...from the spring of the northern hemisphere and the warmth coming...to the golden colours of autumn and the cooler (fire needing) temperatures. The children have adjusted back to school and we've had some really early nights.  We've appreciated visits from friends and it's humbling to think that being away three weeks that there are people who have missed us...sometimes amongst the busyness of life you don't realise that....

...early this morning our eldest daughter left for her own adventures and if you're interested you can follow her here... https://southernfarmgirladventures.blogspot.co.nz/ ... we know that she'll appreciate prayer along the way as there will be lots to learn and take in...however it's great to know that GOD is with us even amongst the separations and ups and downs in whatever HE has called us to walk...

....You may think this strange to put on when a loved one is going away and yet the thing that we can all think about...it is well with my soul...Is your soul right with GOD?  If not start reading His word the Bible and find someone who will point you to HIM...

Homeward bound....

After meeting up with the guys, who had coped well with out their female support...we were able to have three great flights home...













We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have prayed for us...for those who have shown us hospitality along the way...to all our new friends...thank you each one for walking this trip with us.  Even though this is the end of this adventure, we may find that we update the blog from time to time...
We feel blessed that we had this opportunity to travel and thank GOD for the overall happenings that HE has preserved us along the way and gave us more than we hoped for when planning the trip.

Unexpected adventures...

This post is a little different...we were starting our travels home, expecting to spend one and half days back in Vancouver, when we had a change in our adventures.   About an hour into flight, our daughter rose to use the bathroom and next minute collapsed in the ailse...so started a scenario that you just read about in the newspaper...
... after having a surgeon, family doctor and paramedic help out along with the Air Canada staff helping as well...the decision was made to land in Winnipeg...mother and daughter left the plane and Dad and three boys continued flying to Vancouver, managing to work through there time there.
...Daughter was met with an ambulance at the airport and we were transported to the emergency department of one of the hospitals in Winnipeg.  After observation we were released with no deterioration of symptoms....now are dilemma...we knew no one in Winnipeg, however we had met someone in Vancouver, who heard of our situation and they were able to contact a lovely older couple (he was a doctor) who came and picked us up at 11.45pm from the hospital and housed us for the night.  The wife was able to help us with heading back to hospital on Friday to get medical clearance to fly...it's interesting how you watch the clock and have to leave all in GOD"S hands for timing and all the situation.

We were able to fly from Winnipeg to Calgary before arriving in Vancouver to meet up with the guys and fly home.  Some interesting facts...we hadn't planned to go to Winnipeg but GOD showed us the area that another daughter is moving to for camp work next week...then we saw Calgary area from the air...we had just by passed on the road...we flew over the Rockies and saw a little...we met some other Christians and were able to fellowship, as well as have a contact for our daughter...we experienced the power of prayer and the pulling together of the house hold of faith in our situation...we are thankful that we don't feel our holiday ruined but an experience that was not planned and worked out well.






Out and about at Georgian Bay

Due to a hiccup in plans we didn't finish our Canadian posting...so here we go...

On the final day with our friends at Georgian Bay, we managed to see a few sights.  Because of rain the day before, we entertained ourselves with indoor bowling...like 10 pin bowling but with five skittles and smaller balls...we all had fun and went back a second day



After this we went for a drive and saw some beautiful scenery...will leave with some photos and a comment at the end....














The last night we were invited out for supper...we would call it dinner/tea...which was in walking distance to where we were staying...there was a beautiful sunset and I was walking down a track to the lake to get a photo. Something move and I thought it may have been a fox that we had seen about or a squirrel...so I "shush, shushed" it like I would a sheep and this thing skittled up a tree...I suddenly thought, this is bigger than a squirrel so I tried to get it moving a bit more and realised that it was a raccoon looking at me from the tree...so no sunset photo as I wasn't going to walk past the tree :)  

For the boats wrapped...because the lakes freeze over, they take the boats and pontoons out of the water, drain the pipes etc and then wrap them up with shrink wrap, to stop the snow and ice from ruining the boat.

After Niagara Falls.....

Friday saw us packing up and leaving Niagara Falls...traveling to our friends place at Georgian Bay on Lake Huron, we left Esther at the Toronto Airport to travel back home...she has arrived safely :)
We stopped at Barrie and visited a large Costco's stor
e which is like a huge warehouse that has just about everything.  We also enjoyed lunch there too.  Traveling on and the scenery changed from city life to country life with farms dotted around the place.  Settling in we managed to get washing done and just down wind a little bit....mother was going down stairs with a huge arm load of washing and slipped on the last step (wooden floors and merino socks don't go together :) ) and ended up with a very sore tail end...but you keep going even amongst the pain.  We are thankful that it's not worse. 



Yesterday we started our day with a Brunch at the Assembly our friends fellowship with...this was a nice way of meeting others in the meeting as well as seeing a slide show of our friends trip to Israel.
 In the afternoon we visited a nearby town who had a Maple Syrup festival...this happens at the end of the maple syrup season...where a lot of growers try to sell their wares and others sell theirs...it was out on the street so lots of people could enjoy.
The younger two were excited about a police car again...an older son liked the cars being raffled (we said no to a raffle in case he won!!!)....








There was a man who made potato chips ... or twisted/stretched potato...while you watched.  He drilled a hole in the end of the potato then put it on a machine that cut the potato...putting the potato on a stick he pulled it before cooking it...







...and they were yummy.   We tried a number of maple syrup samples and all a bit different.  Someone explained to us that each tree is different so each syrup is going to be different.  There was a lot to see and do and we all enjoyed our experience. 

Today is Sunday...in our country many will be heading back to school after the holidays...enjoy your time there...we have a busy schedule with meetings this morning and a rest this afternoon, before the gospel meeting and then a sing.  It's been amazing how GOD has opened up windows for us to get special times with each group of believers.
