Unexpected Adventures

We had a lovely stay at Kamloops....this morning while waiting for all to get ready for breakfast we went for a walk across the road to the park...on taking a photo of a number of things we heard this peck, peck, peck sound....a woodpecker "attacking" a power pole....

...then off for breakfast which had little eyes opened wide as there pulled up and walked in...not one, not two...but five police officers.  After breakfast the police officers opened up and one taught children safety and offered to show the children the car....some of the older ones had the experience of being hand cuffed...sitting in the back seat...which was hard, not soft....and just general learning..

...then off to the BC Wildlife Park...with Canadian wild animals who are rescued from the wild and can't go back there...

A few photos from A (6) of what he's taken along the way....

There are many photos we could share from the wild life park but we'll let you enjoy the ones above and maybe tomorrow we might add a few more....

...moving on...we start on the road where Dad drives for a couple of hours...first time for him to drive on the opposite side of the road...and then we have a break.  After the break the scenery becomes more mountainous and snowy and for some reason less traffic...
on reaching Roger's Pass...which is one of the last ones before going over to the other side of the mountains...we get to pull over for about an hour as there was a nasty crash further on the road...at first we were told the road wouldn't open for another three hours...what do you do when you're in a line of cars that look like they are waiting on going on the ferry?  You explore the snow that is right there and find there's a museum that you can visit and get some history of the area...very interesting....

We've wanted to visit Canada in snow time and we have been blessed with lots of snow...thankfully the roads are clear.

After this stop, we safely made it to Banff...I was driving and so photos are on the camera's tonight so will try and share tomorrow...somewhere in the pass we changed time zone, so immediately lost an hour...as well as crossed into Alberta.... The children managed to see some wild elk, eagles and a mountain goat along the way...

Well that's our happenings for today and we're all ready for bed...thank you for continuing to follow along with us and pray for us...we certainly are seeing GOD"S hand in leading and protection.

Good night....
